Gavin Davis started his culinary journey in the kitchens of several South Wales’ Gastro pubs, and he and Chris began working together in 2005. Gavin decided to take a few years out to follow and develop his passion for patisserie and desserts, and his creativity, kudos and commitment led him to become head of pastry in one of South Wales’ award winning speciality caterers. In 2014 Gavin and Chris teamed up again to form the impressive heart and leadership of the culinary team at Christopher Lee Catering.
Our Head Chef’s
Chris Lee trained in London, with Roux brothers and John Torode, and worked in restaurants including Home Bar, Conran, and the Inter-Continental Hotel, London and in Cardiff at the acclaimed Woods Brasserie.
Before he started on this illustrious cooking career Belfast born Chris read Earth Sciences at Edmund Hall, Oxford University and then worked in finance with Goldman Sachs in New York. His passion for cooking was so strong that he gave up a high earning job to return to Oxford, this time to the catering college. He graduated with flying colours and travelled round France and then to London to begin his creative journey through prestigious restaurants before deciding to bring his talents to the location catering business.
TV & Film Location Catering
Established in 2002 as an event catering company, South Wales based Christopher Lee Catering have been cooking for the Film & TV industry on location since 2008. Having recently relocated to our new premises in Bridgend at the end of 2013, we now have a brand new production kitchen, additional prep kitchens and extensive storage, all built to help cater on location to the highest of standard.
Mobile Catering on Set
With 2 mobile kitchen units (including a newly built 7.5 tonne truck,) and both complete with refrigerated and support vehicles, Christopher Lee Catering have the facilities to cater for all of the needs of any production….and we do, to rave reviews!
